Post 4:Unusual Perspective

This week we learnt about different photography concepts such as angles, depth, and perspective. When taken from an abnormal angle a picture catches the viewers eye, saying "hmmm Thats different." We also learned about the many occupations invovled within the field of photography. Looking at the pros and cons of the jobs we looked at is a good way to find what's right for you.Perspective is a fun concept. For instance you can put a person holding up a car or somebody climbing out of cup. Here are my concept photos I took on my photo-shoot.

The door into the basement viewed from above adds a different perspective than from just walking at eye level.
Unless you work with tires or brakes I doubt that you have ever seen a wheel from this angle. The raised part of the rim looks very different with the bolts than from eye level.

This one I like most because it is a view nobody can have because your head would get in the way when that close to the tree. This perspective also makes the tree look giant and the bark look more detailed.

This photo is of the tower located just outside the school. This perspective brings the illusion of the tower streching on endlessly. It also has some depth when you look at the close up supprts against the middle ones and then the sky.

Post 3 Rule of thirds and framing

This week in digital pictures our class learnt about rule of thirds which is the concept of not having the main subject in the middle of the picture. It is more appealing to viewers if your subject is located on an intersecting line when you divide your screen like a tictactoe board. Framing was straightforward, it enhances the picture when you have an interesting frame and it also bolds out your subject. Our class took photos representing these rules, these are the ones I took.

This is a picture I took of my locker my belongings are framed by the locker/door.

This one is my favorite because I used rule of thirds and the photo had depth because of the buliding in front of the truck.
This photo is Mack framed by the truck box. His shadow blending with the box shadow adds interest to the picture
I took a photo of the man on the guys washroom wall. I used rule of thirds and framing. The man is framed by the wall and is positioned to the left following the vertical line.

Post 2 Theme: Looking Up

What did I do in class this week?
This week in class i completed a photography time line from the first camera obscura to the newest in printing technology. With the many advances in photography in recent years it makes me wonder if there will be a breakthrough in my lifetime.I also answered questions regarding important inventors and people in the history of photography. Our class went on a Photo scavenger hunt with the theme, Looking Up.

Theme and Pictures:

This weeks theme is Looking Up I find it an interesting theme because there are countless pictures you can chose from and everybody wont have the same picture. My first picture is looking up at the birds, probably flying south for the winter. The second photo is of the old grandstands that are used at the Manitoba stampede. I tried to get some pigeons in the picture but none were around the building. My third picture is of the gloomy day we had while taking pictures. I saw the sun trying to get through and I thoughtit would make a good picture
